Next we move on to the lower
control arms. We removed the bolts and took the control arms off the
        truck. |

        |
We then set up our bushing removal tool to remove the lower control arm bushings.
These turned out to be very difficult to remove. Work slowly, and use
        lubrication on the threads. |

        |
Here you can see the piece of
black pipe that will receive the bushing as it is pushed out. It is
important that this pipe fits perfectly flat on the control arm, and
that it is the proper diameter. Otherwise the control arm could bend.
Also notice the pliers used to span the control arm. This allows the
ratchet handle to slide along as the bushing pushed out of the control
        arm. |

      This next picture shows the
pushing end, configured with a washer of the appropriate size to fit
just inside the bushing sleeve. |

        |
Here is the lower control arm
with the bushings removed. It took a lot of force to get those bushings
        out. |

        |
It is important to clean out
the bushing sleeves to remove all traces of old rubber from the rubber
        bushings. |
